Admission Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Preadmission testing Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)
• Proof of malpractice insurance
• Proof of immunization
• Completed admission application forms

Academic Progression requirements

• Once admitted to Mercy College ADN program, successful completion of all courses within each semester is required for progression to the next semester. The student must earn a passing grade in all nursing courses.
• A letter grade is issued for all instructive courses. A grade of B or higher is required for non-nursing courses and C+ for core nursing courses.
• Pass or fail grades are issues for lab and clinical practice courses and a grade of P (pass) is required.
• Progression into the ADN program requires students to maintain certain credit hours and minimum GPA of 2.75.
  • Students are expected to complete all the requirements of each course within the semester in which it is taken. Exceptions may apply to students with illness or circumstances beyond their control.
  • A student may repeat only one course one time in each discipline (core nursing or non nursing). Students with a second failure in a discipline will be subjected to dismissal.
  • On admission each student will be assigned a faculty member for academic advisement, remediation and or individual help. Students are urged to take the initiative to seek advisement. It is the student’s responsibility to maintain satisfactory academic status and meet college requirements.

Academic Integrity Statement

• Academic integrity is the pursuit of scholarly activity in an open, honest, and responsible manner, serving as a basic guiding principle for all academic activity. Academic integrity includes a commitment not to engage in or tolerate acts of falsification, misrepresentation, or deception. Some examples of academic dishonesty are cheating, plagiarism, unethical clinical practice, alteration of records, forgery, false representation, and knowingly assisting another in dishonest acts.
• Violation of academic integrity will result in disciplinary action.

Professionalism Requirements

• Professionalism implies a respect and courtesy for others in our educational setting and chosen profession. We expect our students to maintain the highest standards of professionalism in the classroom, in clinical settings, in the university community, and in related public settings. All that you do and say, and the way you present yourself visually either elevates or diminishes your professional image in the eyes of others. In addition, what each of us does affect the way all of us are viewed.

Graduation requirements

• The main graduation requirements are to have fulfilled all class requirements and passed each of those classes and accompanying clinicals within the allotted time period as well as with the proposed minimal grade requirements.
